Obsession 8 9/6/2013: Lilly Pulitzer planner

Hello everyone,

I am SO sorry for not posting in forever. It has been a hella crazy summer for me. So much stuff happened that I can't even be bothered to get into. I also ran out of stuff to blog about. However, I now have stuff to blog about now! Yay!

Alright, so I am extremely forgetful and I would forget my head if it weren't attached! So, I have to write everything down in a planner. It was time to replace my old one, so one of my classmates had a Lilly Pulitzer one and I fell in love with it immediately and I bought it as soon as my old one's dates were up. It has stickers, a pocket for receipts, these beautiful illustrations throughout the pages and it's just unbelievably cute! It's also perfect to slip in my purse/bag to use for school and everyday! I'm a super busy person and it just suits my lifestyle! This is the one I have:

There are so many other designs and sizes for Lilly Pulitzer planners. The smallest one is a bit steep ($17), but I promise it is soooo worth it and just beautiful and makes your day to see everyday! The bigger ones cost like $28, but you do get free shipping (silver lining?). Just keep in mind the small one is small and the $28 is an average sized planner you would get at say, Target. You can purchase/look at the other designs here! I strongly recommend getting one of these; you won't regret it! =]

Obsession #7 6/26/13: Coconut Oil

Hi everyone,

Sorry I neglected this for a bit, I've just been really busy. Also, I have a new obsession for you! Coconut oil!!!!Seriously, this is amazing! I'm not talking about it for health benefits (although, it is really good for you, like avocado oil) I'm talking about using in beauty-wise. I've pretty much stopped using lotion altogether and using coconut all over my body. I put it on every night before I go to bed so it can sink in my skin and make it all soft and sexy like. =]. The best part about coconut oil is that it's not uber oily like olive oil (even though olive oil is good for your skin, too!) and it won't get your bed sheets super oily and when you do wash them, it will wash off really clean and you won't get any oily residue at all! Same way in the shower, if you apply it to your skin or hair it will wash off without that greasy feeling! Plus, it makes your skin smell all tropical and stuff. I was born with terrible skin and so far my skin is improving! =]

This also works wonders on your hair as well! It keeps your hair smelling coconutty and man, does it keep your hair smooth! I love it!

Here's what I use:

I bought it at Whole Foods and it cost a little less than $10 a bottle. It is a little pricey, but my goodness, it is better than any fancy lotion and it's natural and organic and stuff, too!

Take a plastic spoon and draw out a spoonful of the oil and pour it in the palm of your hand. Take it and rub onto your skin. Apply liberally (but don't get crazy) and let it soak in. You will feel your skin thank you! The best part about this is that you don't have to apply it everyday because it is very moisturizing. Because I have severely dry skin, I try to do it as much as I can, but even if I skip a day, I'm still good, yo!

Here are benefits of coconut oil for skin:

# because it is high in natural fat, it reacts best to skin for softening purposes

# it can be used as a natural anti fungal and has antibacterial uses.

# Coconut oil can be used to get rid of acne! What?!?!?! Good to know, because I eat waaayy too much chocolate (btw, I will fight anybody tooth and nail that chocolate DOES cause zits!)

I apply it a couple minutes before I take a shower and wash your face last. The steam from the shower will open your pores and let the coconut oil's antibacterial goodness sink in and clean your pore. You can wash your face with your favorite cleanser and even if you forget to apply moisturizer, you're still good, but always remember moisturizer as it makes your face naturally happy! Or at least I believe it does...lol

# It apparently eliminates dead and flaking skin.

# It has been  used as a natural deodorant. I don't know, I still love me some Dove deodorant, but if anyone wants to try it, lemme know how effective it is!

#Also, it has a nice fragrance! Very coconutty and beachy and I feel like I live in the tropics every time I put it on my skin. Coconut oil looks really sexy on darker skin...like seriously, I feel irresistible when I have coconut oil on! =]

Obsession #6 6/19/2013: Perfumes

I am addicted to perfume. Always will be, always have been. I love putting on perfume in the morning because it always perks up my day to know I will be smelling schexy all day! I also love hearing nice compliments about how lovely I smell. You know like if you pet a dog how it will always love you? I'm the same way...but I'm a human. But seriously, tell me I smell good and ask what perfume I'm wearing, I will honestly love you forever.

What? You think I smell good? You want to know what I'm wearing and where I got it? Awww, you are too sweet! Here, why don't I just tell you...

Le Perfumes

One of my everyday perfumes is Bombshell by Victoria's Secret! It smells flirty and fun and it's fruity! Personally, I think it is a good summer smell and I swear boys are attracted to it...but then again, it could just be me ;). I also find that it's a clean smell, too! Basically, if you're looking for fruity, fun, girly, but clean, I highly recommend this perfume! Plus, the bottle is gorgeous and if you don't like it (which, like, isn't gonna happen), Victoria's Secret has a great return policy!

Another perfume and another everyday one that I lovelovelove is La Perouse by Gilly Hicks. I always feel like an old lady going into that store because the average age of girls there are like, what, 11, 12??!?! Anyway, the perfume smells really nice! It's a more musky smell (not at ALL like Bombshell), but it is as clean smell. Kind of like a perfumy cologne, if that makes any sense. Either way, I love it and I wear it when I'm in a more sexy, serious mood instead of cheery and playful. I really like it, but it's one of those perfumes you will either love it or hate it.

Also, I <3 the bottle! It's so sleek and sexy. It's like the Angelina Jolie of perfume bottles!!!!

Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I am madly in love with this perfume. It is clean but like flowery but sexy. I can't describe it but it smells amazing and it lasts all day. I get a zillion compliments on this one and it's just so fresh and clean! I wear it in the morning and I can still smell it on my clothes at night! It's one of those things where it's like "Ima wear this for me!"

Love Express is nice, too. It's really fruity and it reminds me of a fun, hot summer night. It has a very playful, vibrant, and youthful smell. I also find this one is a hit/miss perfume and it so happens to be a hit with me! It is long lasting which is a plus, but I think it's one of those that only works with certain people. Guys like this one, too for some reason! When you have a moment at the mall or something, run into Express and try it out! Also, you can shop for some clothes, too! Yes, Express is DEFINITELY one of my obsessions as well, teehee!

Another one I really like is Miracle by Lancome. It's flowery but not overpowering. Very sophisticated, chic, and feminine. I usually wear this one for special occasions because it smells lovely! I like to wear this one on my clothes and the scent will last all day! I recommend this one and you can get it at any department store! =]

These are suggestions if you're looking for a new scent. I have found great success with them and I am definitely going to discover more (which I will DEFINITELY be posting about, so keep your shirt on!!!!) Here's a good start! Hope you guys try them out and let me know what you think!

Obsession #5 -6/18/2013: Mint jeans

Guess what I bought like last week?!?!?! Seriously, these are amazing! You can wear them with just about anything except a color similar to mint (so I'd stay away from blues and greens), but anything else is perfect and they have enough color to give you some pop! Plus, I've seen this trend everywhere! Forever 21, H&M,   Express, or any department store. Guess where I got mine of all places? Freaking Target!!! Guess how much they were? $13!!!! I know! They fit well, look chic and I just love them! Perfect for spring and summer! Here are some outfit ideas for mint jeans! =]

Do you see how easy and versatile these jeans are? You can't really go wrong with mostly whites, but I find anything goes well with them! Use these as ideas you can recreate yourself with clothes you already have! I have also found that a polka dot top is ADORABLE with mint jeans! It gives off that sweet, innocent look! I'm sorry I couldn't find a cute pic, but I have a polka dot ruffly shirt I wore with my mint jeans and it looked really cute (if I don't say so myself!). Try this lovely trend out and let me know what you think!!! =]

Obsession #4 For 6/17/13: Love Somebody- Maroon 5

I don't think I have met anyone who didn't like at least one song from Maroon 5! This song is so beautiful lyrically and musically! The lyrics totally relate to my life at the moment and it's different than other Maroon 5 songs because it's actually sound like Trance music (which is another one of my obsessions!) The song is about falling in love with your crush and just wanting to speed things up and make love to them because you like them so much. It's definitely a song everybody can relate to; young, old, men, women, black or white, it's just a beautiful song.

Also, the fact that Adam Levine (another obsession) is singing it makes it that much more amazing. The part where the song goes, "I know we're only halfway there, but, take me all the way. Take me all the way..." every time I yell out, "YES. I. WOULD. ADAM LEVINE! I. SURE.WOULD!!!!" I mean, have you seen that man's body!?!?!! He's like a tattooed Greek god. However, if he actually did try to take me all the way, I'd probably end up crying in a corner or something because he's so beautiful. All talk and no walk for me...*le sigh*

Here's the video and wishing we could all be this chick getting lurved by Adam Levine. Again, *le sigh*

Obsession #3- For 6/17/2013: Tom Hiddleston

OMG! Guys! This man.

Tom Hiddleston is probably the most gorgeous man to grace the Earth with his gorgeousness. He is best known for playing the antagonist, Loki, in both Thor and The Avengers. He is also in other movies like Midnight in Paris, War Horse, The Deep Blue Sea, and an upcoming film called Only Lovers Left Alive. He is also super English, seems uber polite, went to freaking Cambridge and studied Classics...which means, he can recite Shakespeare, ladies!!!!! Oh. and he likes slow jams, and has the perfect English accent, and has gorgeous blue eyes, and the most beautiful smile I've ever seen, and looks good in a suit, and a great actor, and...

All in all, this is a pretty useless post. I just love Tom Hiddleston and his face is one of my obsessions I think everyone should know about! =]

Obsession #2- 6/16/2013: Summer Reading!

Ever since I was a child, I have always loved reading! But the best time to read is during the summer! You know, when there's no school or homework to worry about and you have all the time in the world to read whatever you want! I love it when you can read in the park, under a tree, in your bed in the afternoon! Ah! No better feeling! I'm reading two books at the moment: Major Pettigrew's Last Stand by Helen Simonsen and Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Ann Fowler.

MPLS seems great so far! It's about an older widower, Major Pettigrew, who begins to slowly fall for his neighbor, companion, and widow named Mrs. Ali. The death of their respective spouses bring these two together and they begin to form a solid friendship. They must also deal with society's opinions of their relationship as they are of two different races, (Major Pettigrew being an Englishman and Mrs. Ali being Pakistani). Of course to older generations, interracial dating is not exactly highly regarded. It's just a great story and it's cute to see their relationship develop throughout the book! I was initially put off by this because the main characters are pretty much old enough to be my grandparents, but by reading this book, I've learned that there is no age limit for love. I highly recommend it so far!

Z: A Novel by Zelda Fitzgerald seems really cute! I haven't gotten too far, but the book starts off with 17 year old Zelda Sayre living the carefree, Southern belle life in Alabama. That is until she meets 21 year old F.Scott Fitzgerald who is infatuated by Zelda and assures her his novels will make him famous, despite Zelda's father saying Fitzgerald might be a good writer, but it's not enough for him. Even though her father is not completely smitten with Fitzgerald, Zelda is very smitten with Scott! It's really cute so far and she is the ultimate heartbreaker and professional flirt! I am literally getting some good tips from this novel! This is great for summer due to the release of Baz Lurhmann's newest film The Great Gatsby (which is awesome, by the way) so it is totally in right now! I recommend it so far, but I still have like the whole book to go, but I'll let you know how it is going!

**In conjunction to making yourself smarter by doing some summer reading, I also have an obsession with book bags! Now you can be both fashionable and smart! That's what's up! The ones featured here are from Gilly Hicks. These are really cute and they have the whole beachy theme going on, which is obviously perfect for the summertime when making trips to the bookstore or the library. Plus, they're on clearance...love me some deals, yo! =]

Obsession #1 - 6/16/2013- The Middletons

First and foremost, I am obsessed with Kate and Pippa Middleton! I will literally go out of my way to dress similar to the Middleton sisters, it's sad. Kate's claim to fame is of course being the commoner who stole Prince Charming's (I mean, William's) heart. She stole mine, too! Her fashion sense is incredible, timeless and just so freaking classy! Plus, she seems super humble; I've heard she even shops clearance racks! You go girl!!! Pippa (aka, cutie with a bootie) is equally as fabulous! Every guy wants to be with her and every girl wants to be her. She is the ultimate single lady with all these labels and fashions at her disposal and she gets attention for flirting with cute boys! I mean, winner winner chicken dinner, amirite? But seriously, these women stole the world's hearts and looked damn good doing it...without being slutty or being on a reality show! Now that is what I call true beauty! =]

Also, because I lovelovelove fashion, I will show you how to re-create these looks...just give me time because I'm new to all of this blogging stuff!

Allow me to formally introduce myself...

Hello lovely people,
My name is Aziza and I am a wacko. I love too many things. In fact, I love too many things I can never keep track of what I like or who to tell my interests to. So, I thought to myself, "Self, why not make a blog?". Then I was like "Hell yeah, fool!" So here I am. This is going to be a journal of my obsessions, interests, likes, loves, and everything in between. I hope you enjoy it as much as I love posting this stuff!
